Painted floors...

Wanted a red painted floor. Well i've got one and love it. Up late putting a coat of poly over it and bathroom floor ( painted white) .
Picture
Look closely, note paint grained boarder around edge of room. It was done on top of news paper. Having a heck of a time getting it up. How ever they did it, it worked really well. I'd like to know about it.
Picture
Note print upper right. This is what the graining was done over. Tried wet and dry removal. Oh my gosh, painstaking but last floor to prep for paint. All floors are creamy white except for red kitchen, or will be.
Picture
I found out after i bought 6 gallons of water base floor paint that it is FLAT and shows up every dusty foot paint. Why did they make a flat floor paint? But water base poly is heaven sent. Goes a long way and is strong cover coat satin which seals and makes washable smooth surface. Love it.

Kitchen / bathroom tar like "cut back" to deal with...

Yuck, whats know as "cut back", tar like glue. Googled it, All kinds of advice. Do Not Sand it! Might contain asphatis. Water method and scraping is tearing up the fir floor boards and not getting it all up. Everything is so labor intensive. I'd like to embed it under paint. I will experiment with oil base floor paint and oil base primer/ stain block. Floor may have a texture , cool with me. I only want a sealed color, RED. After all that effort to expose old floor boards by removing old flooring, staples etc i hope i can make this work. Both bathroom and kitchen depend on it.

Weekend of painting just about every nook and crannie. Harry and David made it possible. Ann, aunt Dee Dee, Chelsea, Anthony and Jayden pitched in to keep up my spirits, feed the troops and paint, paint, paint. And it looks fantastic. I am thrilled to follow up on the details. This door i distressed, who knew what beautiful colors lurked beneath the white paint. I adore these plank board doors. Need to replace more doors, may it be that i should make some?
Picture
I bought 10 gallons of white eggshell paint at habitat for humanity. I added artist tube pigment to tone it down. Tricky mixing all10 gallons, required 3 five gallon buckets and a drill driven stir gizmo. I did it, and pretty much like it. Yeah, i can live here. Tomorrow i touch up all rooms and paint bathroom turquoise and upstairs textile room squash, these are the only 2 colors the rest of the house I choose shades of white and are done except for detail work. 5 more wood plank floors ( 3 done) to mend, scrape, sand , paint and varnish. I wonder if i can focus on one room at a time or if i will browse from room to room. Pictures to follow tomorrow.

Camp 610 during mission drywall install. Glad it warmed up. Friday i will garden while my drywall heroes finnish up. It's nice out here. Fixed dinner in the bathroom. The only room serviceable right now. Can't get to attic to retrieve i pad or reading material, an early night for joe and I.

Sitting in bug free net tent. This will suit for evening relaxation over the week end. Then off to bed in the tent when it gets dark. I picked up vegetable garden plants at Colemans Market us 12 , Ypsilanti. They have fair prices and a awesome selection. I need to till one more time and put up fencing and plant my garden. I may have too much produce yield, then i realized i can take it to Manchester food pantry. Yup, that's a win win, am going to plant a flower picking garden to take flowers to clients. There is sooooo much i need and want to do here. I am blessed.
