My Great grandmother was all about making due, using what was available. I remember miniature doll furniture using jewelry box with snap closures for stove top burners. And match box beds. My Mother carries on the tradition. She wall papered our bedroom walls, sewed curtains with pretty sheets. She replaced kitchen counter tops with re used bowling ball lane wood for a butcher block look. Plain and simple it's in my blood. I saved some paint cans. They are plastic now. Here's one for kitchen compost with a thrift store lid. Actually it's from my pots and pans, many pf those are thrift store buys. I am using the paint pails for small buckets, nice handles. And in the garden too.
